چکیده

right Replication of data can lead to better performance due to increased availability of data. This paper explores the use of data replication for large, static data sets organized in a tree structure. In static environments, data replication does not have to deal with problems arising from maintaining consistency among copies [1,10,12]. Static data sets arise, for example, when updates on the data happen at fixed times and in bulk, and queries are not present at the time of updating. We show that in static tree structures data replication is effective in reducing the amount of I/O needed measured in terms of the blocknumber. Our techniques determine what data to replicate, how to control the amount of replication, and how to ensure good block utilization. Our results improve previously known bounds.

Embedded Crack Identification in Beam-Column Structures Under Axial Load Using an Efficient Static Data Based Indicator

A triangular model base on an investigation which has done by Sinha et al. has been developed for evaluating embedded crack localization in beam-column structures. In the assessment of this member’s behavior, the effects of displacement slope are necessary. In order to propose a crack localization method for embedded crack, an efficient static data based indicator is proposed for this crack in ...

Improving Data Availability Using Combined Replication Strategy in Cloud Environment

As grow as the data-intensive applications in cloud computing day after day, data popularity in this environment becomes critical and important. Hence to improve data availability and efficient accesses to popular data, replication algorithms are now widely used in distributed systems. However, most of them only replicate the static number of replicas on some requested chosen sites and it is ob...

Beyond Logical Tree Structures for Data Replication Schemes beyond Logical Tree Structures for Data Replication Schemes

General Structured Voting is a general framework for a wide range of data replication and distributed mutual exclusion schemes. It allows an easy tailoring for speciic objects and environments in a homogeneous manner. In this paper we investigate the characteristics of a so-called voting structure used by General Structured Voting to derive sets of cooperating nodes. Such a set of cooperating n...

Implementing Distributed Search Structures

Distributed search structures are useful for parallel databases and in maintaining distributed storage systems. In this paper we discuss some issues in the design and implementation of distributed B-trees, such as methods for low-overhead synchronization of tree restructuring, node mobility and replication strategies. We have implemented a distributed B-tree that replicates the index and also p...

Steel Buildings Damage Classification by damage spectrum and Decision Tree Algorithm

Results of damage prediction in buildings can be used as a useful tool for managing and decreasing seismic risk of earthquakes. In this study, damage spectrum and C4.5 decision tree algorithm were utilized for damage prediction in steel buildings during earthquakes. In order to prepare the damage spectrum, steel buildings were modeled as a single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system and time-history...
